Halley
Time for another round of info-dumping and hoping no one judges my drawing skills. Here's Halley, AKA the ultimate glowing ball of flowers and happiness!
Halley makes her first appearance about halfway through Disso, but she has a lot happening for her in the third book... no spoilers. She was one of my favorite characters to write because she brings such purehearted happiness into otherwise pretty tense situations.
I based her mostly on myself in middle school (minus all the prepubescent angst): constantly pursuing anything that has anything at all to do with fairies and letting the stories sweep her away. Studying the folklore makes her feel part of something bigger. And now for some details!

- She's optimistic and positive, but contrary to Oliver and Zephyr, she's been through enough to know where to draw the line between fantasy and reality. She's in love with life but knows how bitter it can be.
- As a child, she was very uncoordinated and clumsy, but became remarkably acrobatic after spending years leaping and bounding around while pretending to be a fairy.
- She's 4'10". Teeny.
- It's hard to show on a piece of copy paper, but her wings look much different than normal faerie wings due to being created from colorful silk instead of the wing repair fabric used in Csenfeisna.
- She adores the beach and collects sand from each one she visits.
- She's 20 years old for most of the story.
- She works as the manager of a restaurant on Earth, and she has a strong by-example leadership style. She loves her job and her coworkers, even if they all make fun of her for managing a restaurant without knowing how to cook.
- Her full name is Halley Marianne Summers.
Yup, she's a dear.
